This is beautifully formatted and full of knowledgeable information for anyone self publishing. I also highly recommend using Hailey for helping with your book writing and publishing :)
I never published a book but treat Substack as a training ground. I always edit my drafts before publishing my them on my newsletter. I strive to create quality work meant to reach families and professionals. I appreciate you sharing this piece.
Step 13: Stare at the blinking cursor until it starts to feel like a judgment of your character. ✍️ But seriously, the 'Marketplace' is loud, it’s the 'Manuscript' part where the real magic happens.
Haha, glad I'm not the only one haunted by the cursor! 😄
Honored to be featured, sis. It’s a testament to your guide that it actually makes the Marketplace feel a little less intimidating and a lot more doable.
Very comprehensive and well-written, Hailey. I'm in that spot where I've got my manuscript edited and cover designed, with a launch date about 8 weeks out. There are thousands of YouTube videos on this topic and they don't all agree, so it's overwhelming. Your writing here helped bring things into focus.
First, congratulations on getting your book to that stage, less than 3% of the 80% of people who say they want to write a book actually do so it’s a huge accomplishment!
Though it is an exciting place to be, it can be overwhelming! I’ve been there myself many times.
I’m so so happy to hear my content helped you find clarity😊
"People really do judge books by their covers." That is the line that underscores the reality of the marketplace. If your work doesn't look like it belongs on the shelf with the bestsellers, it risks being overlooked regardless of the quality of the writing.
Great to have your voice here on Substack, Hailey. Subscribed and look forward to reading more. I would love you to do the same, if my writing resonates.
Thanks so much for reading and for your comment George😊
What you said is spot on - if it doesn’t look like it belongs on the shelf people will overlook it regardless of how excellent the writing may be.
I appreciate your support!🫶 I subscribed as well, I am very interested in culture and I do also believe we’re in a transition phase as a society so what you’ve been posting is very interesting to read about!
I look forward to reading this thank you

Thank you, super excited
This book continues to open new revenue channels far beyond the book itself. In addition to speaking engagements, licensed training curriculum, and consulting, I've since trademarked the term for future plans. Thank you, Hailey! https://substack.com/@braincentric/note/c-219069999?r=2bf48g&utm_source=notes-share-action&utm_medium=web
That’s amazing Rich! Congratulations😊
